Introduction Homage to Easwaramma

Reverentially, I dedicate this book/site at the Lotus Feet of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, who has communicated through the inner voice – heart to heart communication the subject matter, the logo and the very existence of the site. This work is the compilation of extracts from the writings and Divine Discourses of Sri Sathya Sai Baba as well as translation and transliteration of our rich heritage of Indian Culture and Spirituality and Scriptures. I thank the Lord for giving me this opportunity to compile all the literature.

Vidya (knowledge) is the cause of liberation while avidya (ignorance) is the cause of bondage. The rich Indian Culture forms the very basis for the individual sadhana. As such there are six normal modes of transformation namely:

Birth, existence, growth, change, decay and destruction.

Baba has explained this transformation is known to all individuals but today people neglect the path of the INNER SELF (Atma) and concentrate on the BODY. Spiritual Transformation is the wisdom, the goal for the Atma to merge into the Paratma (Divinity).

On 26th October, 2001 during the Dassera Divine Discourse Baba blessed the theme of the project of S.A.I. What does S.A.I. mean? Here are the Divine words of the Lord:

SAI Symbolizes:
S Spiritual change (Work)
A Association change (Worship)
I Individual change. (Wisdom)

All these ultimately reach SAI. Baba drew the eyes to the ceiling of the Poorna Chandra Auditorium stage and thus was created the logo. The logo has a spiritual meaning AUM is the basis of the Creator – the Divinity, and it spreads in the Cosmos to all the planets, stars, sun and moon. We all individuals are a part of that Divinity – AUM, the smaller aums flowing along. The smaller aums flow from the AUM and finally merge with the AUM.

The logo has a symbolic meaning. Baba’s Love and Grace and teaching of "Loka Samastha Sukhino Bhavantho" transcends the individual with his individual sadhana to move to society through Service to mankind and ultimately reach the goal Divinity – SAI.

Transcend of individual to Humanity and then Divinity - Baba

I would like to extend my thanks to my family without whose support the special task would not be accomplished. I would specially thank my parents, my mother Smt. Kusum Java for bringing me to the Lotus Feet of the Lord umpteen numbers of times in my childhood days. It was not easy for her, as I was a handicap child having polio. Every holiday was spent with Baba, my mother instilled the habit and it continues till date. I would like to thank my father Shri Lachman Java who for 30 years right from 1960 to 1991 was an active member of the Organisation and with his Bhakthi and Karma we were lucky to have special guidance from Baba at every moment of our life. I would like to thank my brother Om Java along with him we both spent our delightful childhood with Baba and experienced Baba as our friend during our Bhakthi Marga.

I would like to thank and pay homage to my paternal grandmother late Smt. Gargi Devi Java who was instrumental in making the changes in this phase of the life cycles. My grandmother had with Baba’s Blessings started the Bakery in Puttaparthi. Just at the time of the 50th Birthday celebrations of our Lord and the World Conference she expired and Bhagawan asked me to take the responsibility. Before this I never held any responsibility, as I was a student. Baba with His Infinite Love and Divine Blessings would come daily to the Bakery and instill the faith, confidence to fulfill the activity and taught me Work is Worship. My elder sister Late Nina Bhatia brought me into the Service Wing Activities and unto the Karma Marga. Also thank all my colleagues of the Seva Service Group of Mumbai.

I would like to extend special thanks and homage to my sister Asha Shah’s husband Late Chandravadan H. Shah. He fulfilled my hunger for knowledge by giving me all the Spiritual books, the Scriptures, the Upanishads, the Bhagwad Gita, the Vedas and all the literature available. He helped me to read, understand our rich heritage and experience our wealth; this was the Jnana Marga. I would also like to thank my sister Smt. Lata Jumani for the permission to present her book " Health is Wealth".

I extend my special thanks to our team at Pooja Scribe who has typed the manuscript. Also I would like to thank Edwin Bosshard who accepted to host the website and for his source of inspiration. Last but not the least I would like to thank our team at Himalayan Websites who are responsible for the layout and logo of this website and responsible for putting up this project.

I would like to thank Bharath my country where I am born. "Bharath or India is the Engine on wheels that pulls all the nations of the world along the rails of Love and Light to the terminus of Truth". This is the role that Baba has assigned to this country since the beginning of human history. India has the Himalayas, as her shield, as her armor, as her crown. The Range is the sign of majesty, of calm, of cool exhilaration, the call to the heights which man must climb. From the Himalayas have flowed over the land the Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswathi, the trinity of (1) spiritual search (Ganga), (2) mental purification (Yamuna) and (3) intellectual clarity (Saraswathi). The Ganga never runs dry: It is pure, full, capable of destroying all the bacteria that brings disease. Indian culture will be alive and active, so long as the Ganga flows over the land; it can never run dry. It will slake the thirst of generations; it will confer the boon of immortality on those who crave for it. Life has flowed here along the threefold current of BHA-va (pure emotion), RA-ga (sweet melody) and TH-ala (even tempo), and so BHA-RA-TH got a profound meaning. It is a piece of good fortune to be born in this land and be heir to this grand heritage. Living up to its claims, developing it according to one's capacity, is indeed greater fortune.

I express my thanks to the writers/publishers of the books from which parts have been included in the s.a.i.info. The s.a.i. info is a compilation from all the books of the SAI Literature. I hope all the members of the SAI family will forgive me for not being able to take their formal permission in advance.

My sincere gratitude is due to, Convenor, Sri Sathya Sai Baba Books & Publications Trust, Prashanthi Nilayam for all the books published.

I am also grateful to all those publishers, authors and contributors whose valuable articles and experiences have enriched this website.

I have for the last two decades keeping the different vrats and having cooking as a passion have the complete collections of recipe books available. The recipes have been selected from the different authors to name a few - Tarla Dalal, Niru Gupta, Sanjeev Kapoor, Saroj, Lobo and many more. I thank them all and hope they will forgive me for not being able to take their formal permission in advance.

I would also like to thank Burzis Pithawala for his sincere and dedicated efforts for spending endless hours with me in the scanning and selection of the photographs and for bringing out the quality of the photographs.

This website is especially for all the brothers and sisters around the Globe, who on my global trot always, requested me to share the Spiritual Experience and Guidance of Bhagawan Baba.

Baba "You are the intellect by which the essence of all scriptures is comprehended.

You are the boat that takes men across the difficult ocean of worldly existence, devoid of attachments. The blessed individual does daily all righteous deeds with utmost care and hereby attains heaven."

With this prayer I humbly offer my Pranams at the Lotus Feet of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba and pray once again Swami my Dear God, Please Bless all with Health, Wealth and Prosperity and lead all Mankind to Divinity.
