The Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation is a service organisation with a spiritual core and base, founded under the guidance and inspiration of Bhagawan Sathya Sai Baba, for the benefit of mankind, regardless of differences of religion, race, nationality, caste, creed or sect.

The most important objective of the Organisation is to awaken in man the Consciousness of the Divinity in him and to encourage him to foster it, so that he could blossom into an earnest seeker and finally evolve into a liberated personality to merge in the Supreme.

The most significant aspect of the Sai Organisation is the voluntary participation of all its members irrespective of caste, color or creed. Nowhere in the history of the world has an Avatar established such an organisation in His own lifetime. It is not only established but has taken roots in 137 countries and has acquired global dimensions. It is a unique organisation, which has no membership fees and is governed by an unregistered charter for the conduct of its affairs. Collectively, the Organisations represent the largest selfless, totally voluntary Service Corporation ever in the history of human race.

The first SAI CENTRES were started in India as far back as 1965 under the name, Sri Sathya Sai Seva Samithi, and from 1968 in foreign countries. At present there are around 1600 centers spread over 137 countries.
